Shop Floor Cable Covers

Do you have multiple cables lying around on your floor? Or, do you have a collection of tangled cords, and are unsure where they lead to and what their purpose is?

Loose and unmanaged cables can pose safety risks, especially in poorly lit or tight rooms. Don't wait until someone trips and falls before you invest in cable floor covers. In addition to providing safety, cables that are protected from traffic are less intrusive and will save you money in the long run, as they will be less damaged from constant wear and trampling.

At 4Cabling, we have a range of cable floor covers and other cable management products that can help you keep your space tidy and safe, including Cable Ducting and Slotted Cable Ducting

FAQ Section

How do you hide cables on the floor?

There are multiple products in the market that will allow you to subtly and safely hide your wire channels for floors:

Floor cord covers: This floor cable protector is typically made of PVC and has a wood grain polish that can disguise itself against hardwood floors. They are rigid, grip the floor without the use of adhesives and come in different sizes, lengths and colours.

Ruber duct and cable protectors: These products are typically used to store multiple cables that are leading to the same location, or even cables that are thicker in size. They are especially helpful in areas of medium-high pedestrian traffic including homes, offices and parking lots.

Flexiduct cord covers: These types of cable floor covers typically come in a brown shade, which helps them camouflage into most hardwood floors. What’s more, flexiduct cord covers are UV resistant which prevents their colour from fading over time.

Should you run cords under rugs?

In short, no. You should never run your cords under rugs. Firstly, it increases the risk of those walking through the space tripping over the hidden cable and hurting themselves. Secondly, if the cable gets caught under the rug, it has the potential to furniture over. Finally, cords can overheat, especially when the wire breaks down from people walking over them. This can unfortunately increase the chance of a fire occurring.

How do you hide cords on carpet floors?

At 4Cabling, we have multiple cable cover options that are specifically designed for floor cable management on carpeted floors. These are a more permanent and sturdy solution to hide cords on carpet floors. Check out our Cable Cover for Carpet, available in a box of 25m or our 900mm black cable cover.

Does cable management really matter?

Cable management is not only important for aesthetics, in that it hides the mess and chaos of multiple cords, but it also improves the safety and performance of your devices by having a clear and efficient setup.

You can be confident in what cables lead to where, and what each of their purposes are. Also, as we mentioned earlier, reducing the clutter and entanglement of your cables is vital to minimise the risk of a fire starting, especially as some cords can heat up with overuse.
